Your Summer Skin Tips
Need help adjusting your skincare during the warmer months? No problem, that's what we’re here for! Just remember these 3 important tips
Sweep before you mop
Your first tip is to make sure you are double cleansing, especially if you are wearing hats, sweating or reapplying your spf throughout the day! Cleansing is your most important step in your skincare routine and you should be spending 2 minutes cleansing your skin before bed. Spending 1 minute cleansing with either a oil-based cleanser or balm (apply these cleansers onto the dry skin with dry hands) emulsify and rinse throughly, then spend another minute cleansing with a gel based cleanser.
I recommend Green Envee Purify Botonic Oil Cleanse and Glymed’s Idyllic or Mixi Clean Cleansers
Wear Your Antioxidants
Although we can develop dark spots at anytime during the year, summertime can definitely worsen and speed up the process since we spending more time outdoors in the hot weather. To help prevent sun damage, cut back on intense exfoliation and double up on your antioxidants and tyrosinase inhibitors. Antioxidants like a vitamin c will not only brighten the skin, but help slow down pigment from forming
I recommend Glymed’s Daily Skin Clarifier and Green Envee’s Glow C +
Don’t just apply, Reapply!
By now i am hoping you know to wear your spf, especially in the summer months. But did you know you have to reapply your sunscreen every 2 hours? This is crucial for prevenative aging and dark spots ( and skin cancer ). In your skincare morning routine, i would recommend 2 finger ( pointer and middle finger) lengths of a liquid spf after your skincare routine and before makeup. Then after every 2 hours throughout the day, reapply with either a spf mist or spf powder.
For reapplying your spf, i recommend Seriously Fab SPF mist or Color Science Sunforgettable Total Protection Matte Sunscreen.
